Running a 25mm Pirate game tomorrow/Sat at our local store, Treefort Games. Sabrina, my wonderful wife, helped set up everything at the house so that I'd know what to pack. The Crimson Brotherhood is heading for Mombasa. Should be fun!

First Island for Dystopian Wasr

Received two more packs of buildings from Brigade Models and a pack of Military buildings from Spartan Games. My first attempt at an island for Dystopian Wars. Should be in the game this Saturday.

The Vizier arrives!

Just finished the walls for my Arab town off the coast of East Africa. Centerpiece for a Pirate game next month at my local store Treefort Games. I'm keeping the scenario under wraps, but if any of you remember an old gaming article on Mombasa, then you may have an inkling of what's coming.

First Steps into Dystopian Wars

Don't ask me why, but last month I suddenly got the bug for Dystopian Wars. I'd been given  the British and a terrain pack a couple of Christmases ago. My wife, who knows my taste had attempted to preempt me.
My wife also painted the FSA carrier to tempt a friend into the game.
So here you see my British force and Japanese starter set as well as an attempt at terrain. I really enjoyed painting these especially the terrain. Due for my first game on the 27th. Have yet to finish the rules.

Italian Wars with Neil Thomas rules

Well after 20 years, of off and on planning and painting, my Italian Wars figs finally hit the table! I will not even mention how many times I've rebased some of the figs. Okay the Swiss have been rebased 4 times without ever seeing the table. But last year, Stelios introduced us to the Neil Thomas rules and suddenly it all clicked. So for a few months now I've been rebasing all my Italian Wars figs. And today we played! About 12 units per side. French vs Spanish with Italians, Swiss and Landsknecht all present. Played 2 games in about 4hours. Great fun! With no arguments over the rules!

Finally the Samurai and Cavalry

Well, after a bit of a hiatus, the first of the Wargames Factory Samurai and Samurai Cavalry are done. The Samurai box is a bit of a pain. Attach legs together and then to torso and then arms and then head and weapons. The Cavalry box was a delight! Lower torso to upper then arms/w weapon attached! The rider fits on the horse perfectly! I hope to buy some extra rider weapon sprues to use with the other boxes. Major drawback of the cav box was that the horse hoofs had to be attached to the base. I added a pin to brace the horses that only had 2 hoofs touching the ground. But it was an easy fix and easily covered up.

Lepanto 1/1200

Yesterday was the club's second game of Lepanto using the Laterna rules. Almost 80 ships in all. Once more it was a big win for the Holy League. We're going to tweak the rules a bit as we build for the third game in May. Should have about 130 ships by then. Bob, started all this with his purchase of exquisite Langton ships, was considering 1:1 as our final goal in ship numbers, but we decided on a 1:3 ratio.
