To dream the impossible dream, 28mm Napoleonics.

For years I've been possessed with a desire to run one of those big Napoleonic Games in 25/28mm. Of course reading all the wargame magazines doesn't help to curb the desire. But the thought of painting hundreds of Nap figs just was so daunting. Then I saw some HaT figs on ebay. So just for fun, I picked up a box of the HaT 28mm Napoleonic Prussians. Figured that if I gave up then I'm only out some $15 for 32 figs.
Got the box pretty quick and started to put together some 8 figs, one of each pose. Took no time at all, all I had to do was cut the figs off the sprue and glue the backpack in place. Been years since I painted any Napoleonic figs but managed to paint 8 figs in about 1hr 30min. Second batch in about the same amount of time. Here's a quick pic.
Now there's hope, one box at a time!

Six Day War the Israeli are done!

Had yet to build a force of my own for Flames of War, but when I saw the Arab-Israeli supplement for FoW
I was hooked. Just finished up my infantry last night. Most of the armor is from Battle Honours and the infantry form Battlefront.

Gathering up my Dystopian Wars fleets.

With the new rules now out for Dystopian Wars, I thought it was time to take a look at everything that I've got. Now I need to point out that Sabrina painted up my FSA fleet.

Hoplites for Clash of Empires

So to raise an army for Clash of Empires, I just finished rebaing all my Hoplites. Most are the older Foundry with some 1st Corps in the mix. Also if I may note with pride that my wife painted many of these! I've had these figs for years, now they may finally see the table. Two units of Hoplites to help my Macedonians. Now to paint more pikes.

15mm Aztecs

Well thanks to Kurt, who wants to try out Irregular Wars, I finally based up some of my Aztecs.
These figs are made by Tin Soldier. I've spent the last two years builing up a small horde of these figs through various trades.  I love how they look. So we'll start with Irregular Wars and then slowly build to a huge game!

The Great War 1914 in 10mm.

Only five days into 2014 and we've already had our first 1914 game. Courtesy of Kurt Braunsroth, who has been working on this period for well over 10 years now. We used his homegrown rules H-Hour and his wonderful 10mm terrain. Kurt uses hexes for movement and fire but does a great job not having them stand out. The game was fast and furious with some 6 divisions on the table, though somehow by mistake the French lost! For those going to Siege of August  this month Kurt will be running his game Sat.
