English Civil War comes early this year!

Got a game of ECW in early this year. 'Victory without Quarter' rules, 28mm figs, 4x12 foot table 6 players and 20 units per side. 5 units per Brigade.
These rules never fail to produce a fun game with lots of moans and cheers as the card deck determines the next activation. A very slim Royalist victory it was.

Indian Mutiny Battle finally!

4-5 years since the last game? But yes finally got those Indian Mutiny figs on the table again.
Tried out the 'Sepoy' rules by Graham Evans. Played the Aong scenario, which takes place after Fatehpur.
As you can see in the pics, the British need to clear out another force of Mutineers on there way to Cawnpore.

Took a little rereading, but we think we got most of the rules right. They really do allow a small group of British to put to flight a much larger ++force of Mutineers. Not to mention that the Mutineer command die rolls  were abysmal and the British didn't roll even 1 leader event!
It was a very fun game. I'm lucky to have some very easy going players who are quite happy to try out other rules for the period.

A return to 6mm SciFi with LaserStorm rules

Okay so it's not a complete return to 6mm SciFi since I do have AlphaStrike/Battletech forces. But I think LaserStorm may give me the feel of those old Epic 40k games. Lots of troops and destruction on the table.
So since we're going to try the rules next week, I decided to put together a new force. The 1st Samarkand.
Now, I know some people are going to notice the mix of scales, but I think the various pieces seem to work well together. Dystopian wars Blazing Suns armor, Battletech infantry, Heavy Gear fleet action mechs, and a MicroMachines Jawa vehicle as the big troop transport.
