Sunday we'll be trying out a castle assault using Dragon Rampant, still working on details. But I knew we would need a tower or two for the Orcs. So I knocked these out yesterday, a bit plain for Orcs but the banners help dress them up. The banners are also removable so can be used by other forces. gotta go get some thread to run along the top poles and the ramp.
And here are some pics of the actual siege game taken by Stelios. Very fun and close game.
Basic Scenario: 5 Orc and evil human forces attacking 2 Human defenders with 1 relief force arriving later. All forces were 30 points for Dragon Rampant. (no flyers or such allowed)

Last night we went with a Battalion on Battalion game. 40 mechs per side.

Very fun game!

My Ottomans finally on the Table!
So this past Saturday, after work, the Blucher group meet up for a battle, and my Ottomans finally took tthe field. David brought his marvelously painted French and Russians. Steven ran the French with my Ottomans as his allies ve Kurt and David running the Russians. 1812 what if scenario with the ottomans not making peace with the Russians in early 1812. My 130 points were facing the Russian sledge hammer of 170 points while on my left Steven had to take his 170 points of French and break the Russian left wing 130 points before I broke.
There was a wonderful fight of Cavalry corps on my right flank with the Ottoman cavalry on an initial high, but slowly being overwhelmed. The Ottoman infantry corps suffered somewhat initially with the command points being given to the French so that they could press their attacks.
Slowly Steven ground the Russian flank, but unfortunately the Ottomans were unraveling far quicker.
A loss for my first outing but very fun and exciting! Now comes the next wave of Ottoman cavalry in time for the next game in a few weeks. Yep I got a tight painting schedule.

Blood and Plunder and refitting old ships
So I acquired the Blood and Plunder rules last week and am really seeing some potential here. So I'm getting together a demo game for the local store. Refitted one of my first pirate ships. A bit small, made from the old Gary Chalk design. But it seems to work. Stole the sails from a model ship at a local craft store.

2nd Game of Men who would be Kings
2nd game, 4 players per side, 24 points each. Played well but forgot the 3 foot per player rule. Thus the table was a bit tight. Played the destroy the buildings scenario. Very tough on the Colonials, had to destroy the buildings but take as few casualties as possible. Native victory in the end.
